The Smart Museum of Art commissioned Mary Ellen Carroll’s Open Outcry, as part of Feast: Radical Hospitality in Contemporary Art exhibition. This is the latest iteration of a long running project in which the conceptual artist creates site-specific conversations around
meals under the title "Itinerant Gastronomy". Open Outcry was presented at the Financial Gallery at CME Group in the Chicago Board of Trade Building, and featured a unique sculptural seating arrangement that was designed in collaboration with the artist.
